Job Description Summary

The Assistant Crew Coach aids in supervision and effective leadership to the men’s rugby club sport program. Responsibilities include fostering skill development and teamwork among students; promoting and upholding institute policies and procedures; and supporting the Head Coach’s program goals.

Assistant Coach duties include but are not limited to:
1. Assisting with scheduling, planning, attending, and implementing all practices
2. Communicating effectively and serve as a mentor and coach with student athletes
3. Teaching the fundamental skills of rugby to new players
4. Working with Forwards on positioning/scrum/ lineout

Minimum Education Required Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education Bachelor's degree
Minimum Work Experience Required Less than 12 months
Preferred Work Experience
Minimum Knowledge Required Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations. Uses instructions and guidelines to perform the job safety function. Periodic training will be required.
Preferred Knowledge Working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications

1. Experience playing/coaching rugby at the Collegiate or club level
2. Hold or willing to obtain USA Rugby L200 Coachijng Certification
3. Demonstrated experience working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
4. Ability to work nights and weekends
