Job Description Summary

Part time applied mathematics faculty positions are available for the Fall 2017 semester. We seek qualified individuals that would desire to teach any of the following courses for the Fall 2017 semester which starts Sept. 5:

College Mathematics: This is an algebra and trigonometry course that Construction Management, Architecture and Management freshmen take.

Precalculus: This course is taken after students have passed College Mathematics in most cases. In the fall semester the main cohort taking this are Computer Networking major freshmen.

Statistics and Applications: This is an algebra-based statistics course that does spend its fair share of time with probability first. Construction Management sophomores take this this course.

Discrete Math: This course includes set theory, logic, truth tables, the principle of induction and introduction to graph theory. Cpmputer Science freshmen take this course.

Probability and Statistics for Engineers: This is a course that computer science, computer engineering, electromechanical engineering and applied mathematics students take.

Please note that multiple sections of the above courses will occur and that the sections are coordinated by full time faculty members at Wentworth which means that there will be a lot of guidance and collaboration about each course.

A Master’s degree (or higher) in mathematics, computer science or a closely related field is required. College teaching is preferred.

Minimum Work Experience Required 1 - 3 years
Preferred Work Experience 3 - 5 years
Minimum Knowledge Required Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations. Uses instructions and guidelines to perform the job safety function. Periodic training will be required.
Preferred Knowledge Working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree. Teaching experience in higher education environment.
Solid communication skills.

Advertised Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in related field.
