Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, and working in collaboration with the Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement and the Director of Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Officer – Leadership will support the fundraising efforts of the Institute through the systematic identification, solicitation, and stewardship of alumni and parents capable of giving $1000 to $25,000 annually with a goal of growing the number of members recognized in the President’s Society by a minimum of 10% per year. The Annual Giving Officer will be responsible for articulating a compelling case for unrestricted support as well as working on special programs to raise funds for strategic priorities at the Institute. In addition, this professional will work with the annual giving staff on a variety of marketing and communication efforts. Frequent regional travel, occasional travel outside of New England as well as work on select nights and weekends is necessary.

The ideal candidate is independent, self-motivated, and detail-oriented meeting the following criteria:

Bachelor’s degree required;
5 years of relevant development experience preferably in higher education;
at least 2 years of experience using best practices in personal solicitation;
proven track record of successful fundraising;
ability to work both independently and collaboratively, prioritize, plan and execute work with efficient use of time and resources;
outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
willingness/ability to travel frequently, occasional evening and weekend work.
