Job Description Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for processing biweekly payrolls, reviewing payroll and accounts payable for accuracy, supervise, train and evaluate accounting staff in payroll, accounts payable, and accounting for related general ledger accounts. Participate in special projects as required.

Essential Function

1. Payroll Processing: (1) Collect, review and process timesheet data, contract changes, new hires, terminations and employee changes biweekly. Compare collected data to ADP payroll reports for accuracy and make corrections as necessary. (2) Create data files and process for external information flow (TIAA, Unions, FSA, ACA, 1099, etc. (3) Monitor year-to-date deduction and contribution amounts and comparing to federal limits. (5) Timely response to employee requests & questions. (6) TimeSaver TimeSheet Administration

2. Train, supervise, and evaluate the activities and performances of the Staff Accountant and Accounts Payable Representative in their day to day activities. Provide guidance and motivate staff towards common goals. Assign special projects as needed.

3. Create materials for 403B audit and support Human Resources with data analysis and ad-hoc reports.

4. Reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts to confirm correct withholding, processing and verifying remittance to outside agencies.

5. Participate on special projects by reviewing and analyzing current systems and procedures and recommend improvements. Provide support to supervised staff when necessary.
