Job Description Summary

Assist the Department Chair in the functions that support the department’s mission, its faculty, and students. This position requires strong organizational, verbal, written, interpersonal, and computer skills.

Develop a timeline and procedures for coordinating various tasks throughout the year: MArch application process to include logistics and graduation requirements; assist the MArch program director with Semester Abroad.

Support the Assistant to the Dean with a varity of daily tasks; provide guidance/expertise in various databases to implement/manage daily assignments.
Become familiar with faculty/staff roles in academic advising.

Essential Function

Provide support to the Academic Assistants with a number of on-going projects/assigments in the department. Including, but not limited to: office management, studio maintenance, faculty requests, hiring/supervising of work-study students, department events, department website, faculty meeting minutes, and technical /software issue assistance.

Essential Function

Maintain an Alumni database. Collect relevant data prior to graduation and thereafter; assist with the development of ‘out-reach’ campaigns to the Alumni body; assist with the planning of alumni dinners/events; collection of data from alumni surveys, etc., to enable the department to maintain a vibrant Alumni body.

Assist with the collection of relevant data for accreditation throughout the academic year. These include departmental and institutional-wide information.
