Job Description Summary

Provide administrative support to the Department of Architecture. Work with the Assistant to the Department Head in activities including: Semester Abroad, Year in Pictures, Department Fact Book & coordination of studios.

Essential Function

Hire, manage and train, approximately 100 Work-Study students/semester to perform a variety of tasks in the general office environment, studio, and other essential areas. Enter/maintain work study data in Banner, and studio schedules for regular/holiday hours. Trouble shoot issues with both the Student Service Center and the Controller’s office on behalf of all Work Study Students.

Digitize student work for accreditation and for long-term planning. Maintain database and assist faculty with archiving student work.

Produce annually, a ‘Year in Pictures’ featuring faculty and students in an academic setting. Events must be dated, presented in a chronological manner and where possible, individuals identified.

Essential Function

Oversee the physical resources – includes all studios and faculty/staff offices. Update and distribute in a timely manner, the Studio Guidelines to faculty/staff/students; submit to Physica Plant and to Public Safety regular/holiday studio hours and studio monitor schedules. Monitor corridors and spaces to comply with safety rules and alert faculty/staff /students to potential risk. Department liaison to Physical Plant to maintain a safe and healthy studio environment and department.

Coordinate with responsible faculty and maintain department’s event list inclusive of Lectures, ‘Talks’, and Casella Gallery Exhibits.
